The Company:
Starshine EcoWear’s mission is to provide stylish, high quality clothing for babies and toddlers without creating a negative impact on our environment. Founded in 2008 in Vancouver, Canada, the company was named after the song “Good Morning Starshine” by Melba Moore (1968); a song designer, Amber Arce sang every morning to her daughter to welcome the day ahead. Starshine EcoWear currently designs and produces two clothing lines: Starshine Baby Couture and Starshine Bambina. You can find more detail about these fashion lines using the links on the left. All of our clothing is made in Canada in sweatshop-free conditions.
The Designer:
After her maternity leave came to an end, designer Amber Arce was looking for the next chapter in her life. Becoming a Mom was an amazing experience and she wanted to spend as much time as she could with her daughter. However, this Ryerson School of Fashion graduate needed a creative outlet. She has always loved clothes and fashion from a very early age and the time was right to branch out on her own. She took her love of clothes and combined it with her love for her daughter, mixed in her commitment to the environment and Starshine EcoWear was born! After completing a Self-Employment Training course at Douglas College, Amber was ready to revolutionize the baby clothing world.
